A well-woman exam includes checking breast and pelvic area and also includes a pap smear. It is, therefore, a good opportunity for a woman to discuss with her gynecologist the concerns related to reproduction. Mostly the health care providers suggest having this exam every year.
The exam also provides a platform for a woman to share with her doctor specific questions related to her intimate life, parenting, hormonal changes, family planning, etc. It is generally recommended to have the first test between the ages of 13 and 15.
